A stolen boat

Enlarge this one, I think you will like it.

Early this morning I saw this boat floating down the river, it's only occupant was this Cormorant, obviously having stolen the boat. Now I had forgotten the English name for the culprit so I had to get out my Welsh English Dictionary which I often need. The Welsh name I used where I was brought up was Billidowcar, or Diving Billie. In the dictionary I found they are called Llanciau Llandudno which means Llandudno Lads. Now that for me was something worth knowing. I found it very interesting.

The River Police must have seen him and he obviously deserted the boat here.

A great weekend

Sun on the hilltops

There's a Welsh saying 'Daw haul ar fryn'. Translated it says there will be sun on the hilltops which means that things will get better again. The sun is out already and soon my little problems and hospital visits will be over.

Snowdonia

As my friends in this group know, my life revolves around the hospital at Bangor in North Wales these days. This was taken as the car was moving with speed towards the hospital last night.

Here are the snow covered mountains of Snowdonia taken from the hospital.

Another busy day

I've had another very busy day, washing drying and ironing. This is my assistant Maggie May. I thought I'd have to give her a name and I heard her saying quite clearly, Maggie May!

Now I wonder what Sir David Attenborough would make of this specimen?

Colourful

I thought we could do with something bright and colourful to cheer us up this miserable weather. This was taken in Cannes Market last year. What a wonderful place.

Dirty window

Can you see the dirt on my window? This was the day after the storm and we could hardly see a thing, but it rained heavily the following evening and they were cleaner than they were before the storm.

Tulips

Can you see a rose among the tulips? I hadn't realised I was taking myself as well and how much I was enjoying it. I was alone in the house when I took it. Honest! I'm smiling at the tulips. Can you see the couple of rollers in my hair? I just washed it.

A forest of masts

This is a photo I took a few days ago. It is very different on the estuary today it has been windy and rough.

Almost sepia

This was taken last night just as the sun was setting, and a shower was coming in from Anglesey. It has a sepia look about it. I was surprised when I saw the result. The three I took at varying distances are all the same.

A rainbow

This was a lucky accident. I noticed the rainbow, but it was almost round the corner and it was raining and very windy as I stuck my head out of the window to take the photo. I hadn't noticed the reflection in the window until I downloaded it to the computer.

The silver book

This is nothing special, but it's a very important book. I jot down all sorts of important information I don't want to lose in it.

Rough Day

What a difference a couple of days make. This is not another 'two a day'. The bottom is a close-up of the first and shows part of the reason I wanted my FZ18 camera. Before they built the new Marina and Hotel I had a clear view of the horizon, but this is what I see now. I love it when it's stormy like this.
